Rainy Days

Rain drops

When it rains in the city changes. People go underground. Taxis are impossible to flag down and virtually every street corner host a puddle large enough to hide the loch ness monster.

At the same time, it can be the best time to go on a photo walk. The rain makes the colors of the world pop and creates unique patters and designs depending on the surface interaction.

This week has been raining in NYC, not the hard driving rain that makes you want to stay in bed all day and read a good book. The kind of misty rain that is made for photographers! Yesterday on my morning walk to work, I took a side trip through Bryant Park where I photographed the early morning ice skaters.  Along the tree lined path I have photographed so frequently I noticed the ping pong tables lying dormant.

The rain created these amazing patterns and reflections on the table. I had to photograph it.  What do you like to photograph on a rainy day?
